  • Mazda Electrical Mazda Motors of America 2009 RX-8 New Product Introduction Mazda USA called upon piXvfm to create this video-driven course that identifies new equipment and systems on the 2009 RX-8.

By combining live video of vehicle components, technician procedures, 3D animation, motion graphics, and stills, the program walks the learner through changes to the vehicle’s engine, lubrication system, transmission, body electrical, and diagnosis of Controller Area Network (CAN).

Robust navigation tools such as topic menus, progress bar, and playback controls allow the learner to easily step through and replay sections. Closed captioning allows for greater access to program content.

Program progress information can be saved if the learner chooses to stop and resume the program later. Knowledge checks at the completion of the program require a score of at least 80% to advance, and prepare the learner for the certification exam in the Mazda LMS platform.
  • Mazda Electrical Mazda Motors of America Electrical In this 2-part in-dealer training program, we find a Master Technician explaining the basics of electrical principles to a technician struggling with an electrical problem. By combining live video of the actors with 3D animation, piXvfm simplifies the subject of automotive electricity by giving Technicians a more "visual" experience. As the actors walk out onto a virtual train set, the Master Tech explains that electricity can only flow in a continuous loop, much like the train cars going around the track.

Through this award-winning technique, the program teaches technicians to identify components used in automotive circuits, describe the basics of electrical principles, and explain how electrical circuits and their components operate.
  • Toyota Collision Toyota Collision Body Electrical Repair piXvfm partnered with Instructional Designers from the Collision Repair & Refinish group at the University of Toyota to produce a multi-instructional, two-day Body Electrical Diagnosis & Repair course for Toyota Collision Repair Technicians and T-TEN Students (offered through community and technical colleges).

The online pre-course instruction featured animation, graphics and still photography, step-thru real-world diagnostic scenarios, and hands-on, interactive activities testing electrical circuits with a virtual DMM and draggable probes. Knowledge checks after each section prepare the learner for the certification exam in the Toyota LMS platform. Robust navigation tools such as topic menus, progress meter, and playback controls allow the learner to easily step through and replay the lessons. Voiceover closed captioning allows for greater access to program content.
  • Service Advisors' Job Honda / Acura Service Advisors' Job American Honda Motor Co. chose piXvfm to write and produce The Service Advisor's Job for the Honda and Acura Interactive Networks. Learners watch ‘bad practice' scenarios and answer a series of questions before viewing ‘best practice' videos to reinforce lessons. Honda LMS-integrated bookmarking functionality allows students to stop and resume the program as needed. .piXvfm produced two versions of the course to cater to Honda- and Acura-specific branding and messaging.
  • Mazda Engine Management 2 Mazda Engine Management 2 Mazda USA tasked piXvfm to create an e-learning program to train a bilingual force of automotive technicians in emissions and engine technology. piXvfm created a multiple module e-learning course with separate English and Spanish tracks the learner selects upon program start.

piXvfm used 3D animation and graphics to illustrate complex emissions and engine technology concepts and procedures. In addition to the multilingual capabilities, the interface includes a full navigation control panel, with interactive menus, progress meter, playback, volume, replay, and closed captioning controls.
  • Nav Systems Toyota / Lexus Navigation Systems Toyota Motors America asked piXvfm to develop a program to train their Toyota and Lexus technicians about in-vehicle navigation system functionality and diagnostics. piXvfm worked with Toyota Instructional Designers to create an interactive e-learning program using animation to illustrate how navigation systems work with satellite networks, and virtual animation dashboards simulating navigation functionality on multiple generations of Toyota and Lexus in-dash navigation systems.

The e-learning programs, developed for both Toyota and Lexus brands, also feature an interactive demonstration of the TIS online database of automotive repair manuals and procedures.
